5.0 out of 5 stars Beats PerfectPods HANDS DOWN!, December 2, 2011
This review is from: Coffee Pod Replacement Filters for Coffee Pod Brewers - Make Your Own Disposable Pods - 200 Pack by Easy Pack
I have been making pods with my Perfect Pod Maked for use in Senseo Coffee Systems for many years. And I have to say thet the pod making process was always frustrating. Either the pod papers were messed up (not cut or formed properly) or they just would not seal completely. Sometime I'd have to almost burn the paper to achieve a full seal.

Enter the EasyPack Pod papers!!
I have to say that the quality both of the EasyPack pod papers and the packaging are far superior to the Perfect Pod brand refill pods. The pods seal faster, the stated 5 seconds is actually more like 10 seconds, but I always get a fully sealed pod. When I was using the Perfect Pod refills, I would consistenlty have 5 to 10% of the pods fail to seal(even after trying moisture and longer sealing times). With these EasyPack pods, I have made over 400 pods and have yet to have a single pod fail to seal completely!

The quality and design of the individual EasyPack pod papers is superior. The... Read more

I have been using the Perfect Pod system for quite a while, and always ordered another filter material that was packaged in plastic shell packaging. Not really sure what the brand was, but the quality of the filters was pretty bad, miss-cut, and generaly looked like they had been run over by a truck before I got them. These new filters are a better price, and the uniformity of the filter is very nice. They come packaged in smaller cardboard boxes, and the filters look and feel very nice. Have been using for a few weeks and very impressed with the quality and uniformity of the product. They seal very well too. I would recommend.

Fast shipping. The packaging is efficient. Pods are high quality. They fit in the Perfect Podmaker perfectly. They seal up very well. I get more pods for my money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nice features, but poorly made, December 11, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Hamilton Beach Programmable 12-Cup Coffeemaker (Kitchen)
This coffee maker seemed like the best available at the time of purchase, but unfortunately did not live up to my expectations.

It has a nice capacity, with burner auto-off after 2 hours and a built-in clock and timer. It has the pause-n-serve feature.

Some of the problems with this item:

--The carafe doesn't fit well onto the burner and is difficult to easily remove for serving after brewing a pot.
--The unit often allows the filter to collapse so that grounds end up dripping down into the carafe.
--The worst thing about it is that the plastic is very brittle and breaks easily. First the hinge tabs on the lid broke off so it won't close completely. Then the brew basket handle broke off. This piece is necessary to lock down the brew basket. So now I have a $35 paperweight. I will be putting it out with the trash tomorrow.

JUNK! Not recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars A value for the money., December 18, 2011

I have purchased three of these over the last few months. For the money I find these very easy to use, nicely constructed to make them easy to clean and they brew a consistent cup of coffee.

Once you have figured how to drop the filter carrier in place, it is a breeze to use and clean. Also, the carafe must be securely seated or the valve at the tip of the basket will back up the coffee to overflow.

I do recommend brewing no less than 5-6 cups as the temperature of the coffee is higher with a bigger pot. I have tried a trick to get the coffee hotter that seems to work when doing less than a full carafe. Opening the top with the unit on before brewing lets the water warm up and recirculate back into the tank. Then after a while I drop the top and let it brew. The coffee seemed a bit hotter after this.

Overall a good value.

2.0 out of 5 stars has an annoying glitch, October 3, 2012
This review is from: Hamilton Beach Programmable 12-Cup Coffeemaker (Kitchen)
Great coffee maker, except for the fact that the drip nozzle doesn't seem to align properly with the top of the carafe...meaning that coffee spills over and runs onto the countertop ALL. THE. TIME. Very annoying! I have to adjust the carafe, sometimes setting it off to one side or another (to where it's not even sitting on the burner correctly) just to stop it from running over. This is the SECOND unit I've purchased, and both of them had the same problem.

Hamilton Beech, WTF?!! Fix this annoying design flaw!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not for a coffee enthusaist, December 11, 2011
This review is from: Cuisinart DCC-3000 Coffee-on-Demand 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker (Kitchen)
Let me firs say, I used to work for Starbucks and was a Coffee Master. I am a bit of purist so I grade a machine a bit harder than the average joe.

What I love:
Cuisinart is one of the few companies that makes a coffee maker that brews at 190 degrees. (This is important because the flavor from your beans doesn't fully extract if the water isn't hot enough. This is usually one of the differences between a cheap coffee maker and a more expensive one. Cheap makers will heat the coffee hot with the hot plate, but it did not "brew" the coffee at the temperature it eventually gets to.)

It doesn't leak and the light when you fill a mug is a nice feature. All the parts come out for easy filling, rinsing, etc. YOu won't be able to put this under a cabinet though because the top still has a lid that would be blocked.

No leaks if the inside over flows or spills either! Any internal overflow drains into the drip tray which is a very nice feature... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Carafeless/on-demand Coffee Maker, November 3, 2011
This review is from: Cuisinart DCC-3000 Coffee-on-Demand 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker (Kitchen)
Only had Cuisinart's DCC-3000 for 4 days so really need more time for an evaluation. I've owned a few Hamilton Beach Brewstation carafeless models recently and I really like them. The Hamilton Beach units make great coffee but always develop leaking issues sooner or later. If you get to 2 years without a leaking issue you should feel fortunate.

First, the DCC-3000 by Cuisinart is an entirely different level of machine. It's very sturdy, well made and my unit purchased does not look like the picture in Amazon's advertisement. It looks better. The power cord is VERY short, maybe 14-16". Unless you use an extension cord you must locate it directly in front of a power outlet or in an area where it is not beneath an overhead kitchen cabinet. If under a cabinet, the cord just barely allows room to pull out from cabinet, lift the lid on top, and remove the coffee tank for cleaning, without unplugging the unit.

The coffee dispenser turns on a soft LED light above... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars please ban comments from people who don't read manual, January 27, 2012
By
Keith Robberding (Daly City, Ca United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Cuisinart DCC-3000 Coffee-on-Demand 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker (Kitchen)
So, my review is to the many people that didn't read the manual and see that if you are only making a few cups of coffee
there is a 1-4 cups select button so the coffee is stronger because with a small amount of water running through it there
is an extra demand on the maker
I just made the best cup of coffee I've had in 3 years with my new cuisinart coffee on demand. First I ran 12 cups of water
through the machine after soaking my filter for 20 minutes. Set the machine to 1-4 cups and pressed on. I did , because of past experience but an xtra bit of water in the machine to account for coffee filter basket saturation.
The result was a really piping hot cup of rich coffee that allowed me to add a bit of non dairy creamer in it and not reduce
the temperature. They include a manual so people will read it, please don't comment on a machine that works properly until you
don't use it according to design.
